Reid Thornton
As a merchant, he took pride in challenging the status quo, re-thinking merchandising and taking big bets. By swimming upstream, Reid successfully managed a +$2B business at Walmart and was the first merchant to execute both in-store and online channels before the company went through their Omni re-organization in 2020. Reid truly enjoys working collaboratively with cross functional teams and always finds a way to have fun while he works.

Adam McFain
Adam is a former Walmart Merchant who spent 5 years with the company. Adam’s professional background is unique in the fact that he was the first associate to learn both dotcom and store merchandising simultaneously, which helped him develop an omni-mindset from the very beginning. Adam is also a former student athlete that brings energy and his competitive spirit to create an exciting work environment. He is a team player that can play many positions and focuses on encouraging everyone to reach their full potential.

Jillian Brown
Jillian brings +18 years of Walmart Merchandising Operations experience to the Spark Strategy team. During her tenure at Walmart, she navigated categories in Softlines and General Merchandise, successfully managing a business and leading a team through a reorganization while piloting the WM replenishment system they use today. She even managed a growing +$2B Omni category during some of the most volatile retail years! Jillian is a versatile professional and is known for her replenishment and supply chain expertise, exploratory leadership, innovative solutions, and strong analytical thinking. Outside of work, when Jillian is not cheering on her son and daughter at their baseball/softball games, you can often find her and her family enjoying a relaxing day at the lake.

Nathan Luchi
Nathan Luchi is a Senior Account Executive at Spark Strategy with over five years of retail experience. A graduate of the Sam Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas, he began his career at Walmart, managing a multibillion-dollar shared inventory omni retail plan for the action figure and LEGO teams. Nathan specializes in analytical forecasting, inventory management, and e-commerce optimization. His leadership style focuses on collaboration and solving problems proactively. Outside of work, Nathan enjoys traveling with his family, playing sports, and spending time with his golden doodle, Hendrix.

Phil Gamber
Phil Gamber is a former Walmart Associate Merchant/eComm Category Specialist who worked at the company for 3+ years. Phil was apart of the first Omni-Merchandising team in the company; a team that helped develop the future of Omni-Merchandising at Walmart. Phil was responsible for a $300M online category and supported the entire business that exceeded $800M in revenue. After his time at Walmart, Phil took an eComm Account Manager role at Vista Outdoor, Inc., where he led dotcom strategy and sales for Walmart’s largest bike accessory vendor. Today, Phil is responsible for developing and executing strategies to accelerate the growth of the digital channel. He offers a great understanding of Walmart’s key strategies, roadmaps, operations, shoppers, and ways of working to win in today’s eComm environment!

James McGinley
James is a former Walmart Merchandising Sr Planner turned ‘Data Savant’. He led 2 Walmart Data Engineering teams and 2 Walmart Data Science teams on initiatives creating analytic products for use by all Walmart enterprise. These initiatives leveraged the full-box of Walmart’s massive dataset and ranged from modular & space analytics, to omni-merchandising analytics, to creating the back-end that served the handheld device used by 1.6 million store associates. He later led all Data Engineering/Science for a $1B retail media ad network. Ever the enterprising analyst, James also wrote a python sports algorithm that went 54.1% against the Vegas spread with over 1,000 wagers placed. He is a Kellogg MBA from the Full-time program and also is a former US Air Force Intelligence officer with a tour in Iraq as officer-in-charge of his detachment.
